This story is part of Ensemble’s colour week, presented by Resene

This edit is not for fans of beige... From cushions to clever dishes that have caught the Ensemble team's eye, these fun objects will help brighten a room – whether you’re adding a minimalist touch of colour, or going full-throttle and layering.

Klay globe cushion in iris purple, $295, from Penny Sage

There's nothing more lush in my eyes than purple velvet. I'd like to curl up with this on long weekends, but it would also make me appear to have a design aesthetic if I ever felt social enough to entertain guests. - Rebecca Wadey

Karen Walker x Acme 'Bobby' mug in chocolate and lamington, $32

I was gifted one for Christmas and it's quickly become my favourite mug (we all have one). Sturdy, with a great handle and delicious colour combos. - Zoe Walker Ahwa

Misma Anaru small moon dish in cream, $50

Love a cute wee dish that helps keep things on hand and in some sort of order. - Tyson Beckett

Milka Zaleska bubble vase, $250

I met the amazing NZ-based Polish ceramicist Milka Zaleska in Vanuatu last year. After checking out her Instagram, I knew I instantly needed one of her incredible coloured pieces. She recently did a terracotta collab for a Mecca launch, but this electric blue would look incredible in my house. - RW

Napoleon Goods mini chilly bin in candy pink, $105 (on sale)

I've had my eye on the cute little chilly bins from the local brand for ages; now, this pastel pink shade is on sale. - ZWA

Dehei pillowslips in mimosa, $80 for two (on sale)

Soft and sunny pillowcases add snuggly cheer to even the greyest of days. - TB

Sänger hot water bottle in orange, $36, from Everyday Needs

I’m a big hot water bottle girlie during winter. Sure, they need a cover to be safer (my dream is to have this fancy sold-out from British brand Shrimps) but this orange hottie is too cool to hide. It’s made from ‘naturally biodegrading rubber’ in Germany. - ZWA
