As we shift into autumn, balmy evenings are getting shorter and the golden hour arrives a little earlier than expected. One minute you're watching birds dart across a Cinderella blue sky, the next minute it's turned a hazy shade of lilac, gliding into deep tangerine that dowses you in its fleeting warmth. Blink twice and you might miss it.
In this beauty shoot inspired by the magical sky at the tail end of summer, makeup artist Lara Daly plays with colour on models Sabina Sysantos and Jasmine Moir, captured by photographer Nicole Brannen.
Create fluffy brows with Ardell Brow Sculpting Gel in Clear, $13. Dust L'Oreal Colour Queen Shadow in Ruthless, $19, across the eyes and bridge of the nose, blending out to the temples and use Duo Clear Adhesive, $12, to apply dried flowers.
Create luminous skin with Emma Lewisham Illuminating Brighten Your Day Creme, $120, and Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss in Jellyfish, $43, on the lips. Stencil flower petals with TAG Body Art paint in pearl yellow and regular orange, $15 each.
Add texture to the hair with Kevin Murphy Bedroom Hair, $59, spraying lightly through the roots. Create sun beam shapes using TAG Body Art paint in regular teal and neon orange, $15, on the inner corner.
Create a gradient effect across the eyes using TAG Body Art paint in regular yellow, regular blue and regular lilac, $15 each.
