Ensemble is hosting pink high tea at The Hilton on Friday June 9. Join Ensemble co-founder Rebecca Wadey and broadcaster Sarah Gandy to find out more about their cancer diagnoses in their 20s (Rebecca) and 30s (Sarah), and why they’re adamant people of all ages need to be breast aware. We’d love to share this wonderful experience with our readers. Click here to secure your tickets [Tickets have now sold out].

High tea at Bellini Bar is one of the lushest events you can cross off your ‘things to do in Tāmaki’ bingo card, and from now through July, with the added bonus of pink-themed teas in partnership with Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, watching the ferries traverse blustery harbour seas while enjoying dainty patisseries has never heralded a better welcome.

As huge supporters of both the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and, well, food, we are absolutely thrilled to be hosting one of these afternoon teas on June 9. Join Ensemble co-founder Rebecca Wadey and broadcaster Sarah Gandy (who share a very special cancer bond, which you can read about here) for a delicious and uplifting afternoon tea.

Come for the food (which is incredibly delicious), the views (which are utterly sublime) or the witty banter of Rebecca and Sarah. Or all of the above.

Ensemble co-founder Rebecca Wadey (left) was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 26 and the sales & PR manager for Kate Sylvester. Broadcaster Sarah Gandy (right) had an extensive radio career in Aotearoa before being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018; she's since founded the Change & Check campaign with Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Hilton Auckland’s executive chef Juan Patino and pastry chef Hiranya Ratnayakev have combined their exceptional talents to create petite-sized ‘pink’ creations that taste as incredible as they look.

Guests will enjoy beetroot cured salmon on pumpernickel bread, kingfish with finger lime zest and wasabi served on a crispy pani puri, prawn éclairs, guava and strawberry mousse, vanilla and brie cheesecake and more.

We know appearance isn’t everything, and we don't advocate buying pieces just for a one-off wear – but should you want to dress up and have fun, here are some cool threads you’ll want to wear over and over. With the much-hyped Barbie movie coming it’s time to think - and eat - pink.

Pretty in Pink (left-right): Penny Sage long-sleeve tee, Kate Sylvester cardigan, Glassons socks, Twenty-seven Names jacket and flared trousers, Karen Walker organic cotton pink dress, Celine Dion sunglasses from Crushes, Lost and Led Astray dress, Penny Fogo earrings from Iko Iko, Baobei x Buttermilk headband

The Pink Afternoon Tea at Bellini Bar in Hilton Auckland runs May 5 to August 27 2023, Friday to Sunday, with seatings at 11am and 1pm. Tickets are $89 each, with $5 from each going directly to Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. Click here to book.

Ensemble is hosting the Friday June 9, 11am seating. We’d love to share this wonderful experience with our readers.
