These were the best looks at Glastonbury

If Glastonbury can be seen as a crystal ball for the future of festival fashion, the summer music circuit will kick off Down Under later this year with attendees donning 90s-esque streetwear, khaki tones, pops of red and embellished kilts.

Even in the grips of a heatwave, British music lovers couldn't tear themselves away from their signature gumboots – though drier conditions saw many, Glasto stalwart Sienna Miller among them, swap the usually requisite knee-high rubber sheaths for a more relaxed ankle-length style.

There were plenty of the outlandish touches you expect to find at a gathering considered the pinnacle of musical hedonism: Janelle Monae eschewing a flower crown in favour of a full body bouquet, Alexa Chung in a bohemian trimmed negligee and Anne-Marie serenading in silver.

But others stood out for their contrasting restraint. Taking the peace theme of this year’s festival literally, conceptual artist Marina Abramović was a vision in ethereal white. Taking to the stage in a kimono-style silk robe custom-made by Riccardo Tisci in the shape of a peace symbol, the visual artist led a rowdy crowd of thousands in a seven minute long silent protest decrying the horrors of war, violence and climate change.
