We only ever see the highlight reel of someone else's wedding day. Gorgeous film photography of impossibly stylish brides, eye wateringly expensive floral arrangements, guests enjoying bountiful kaimoana and classy cocktails. We're all thinking it: How much did that 'perfect day' cost?
Talking about money - especially at a wedding - is a taboo topic for a lot of people. But, like our money series Purse Strings, where we ask New Zealanders to talk candidly about their financial realities, or our nosey research on how much money people keep in savings, we think it's important to be transparent.
"How much did it cost?" is an optional, but encouraged question we ask all couples in our Ensemble Weddings series, with a diverse range of celebrations including some costing less than $500 and others that cost upwards of $40,000.
If you've had a wedding - or an elopement - we want to hear from you. How much did you spend? Did you you stick to your budget? Did you have help paying for it? Was it worth every cent?
Let us know (to the best of your memory) in the anonymous form below, and we will collate the answers and share the results later this month.
