We're looking for an intern

April 4, 2025
OK we know Jenna Rink wasn't an intern... But we needed a visual and this one gives 'work hard, have fun'.

Are you obsessed with fashion, beauty, pop culture, the arts, politics, wellbeing, or all of the above?

Do you love Ensemble? Dream of contributing to the growth of an independent, women-owned media company?

Would you be excited to learn from two women with 20+ years in media and a passion for redefining ‘women’s interest’ and fashion coverage – and teach them a few things, too?

You might be our next Ensemble intern.

This is a six-month paid internship for one day (six hours) a week, working closely with Ensemble’s co-founders Rebecca Wadey and Zoe Walker Ahwa, both in-person and remotely. Days and hours are flexible.

There will also be chances to attend brand and PR events, but these would be outside of your internship hours. So, this is a Tāmaki-based role (sorry, non-Aucklanders – we still love you!).

Our ideal intern doesn’t need experience, but would:

✔️ Be studying

✔️ Love storytelling and creating content (writing, shortform video, etc)

✔️ Be extremely online, and love Instagram, TikTok and Substack

✔️ Have experience using Canva, Later and video editing software

✔️ Be self-motivated, independent, curious and enthusiastic

✔️ Have opinions – but also love listening to others’

✔️ Be eager to make connections in the fashion, beauty, arts, media and wellbeing industries

✔️ See this as a rare chance to learn, be creative and have fun

✔️ Already follow and subscribe to Ensemble

To apply, send us a CV and cover letter (or a video) telling us why you’d love this opportunity and what you’d bring to the role, to hello@ensemblemagazine.co.nz. Applications close April 16.

Creativity, evocative visual storytelling and good journalism come at a price. Support our work and join the Ensemble membership program
