Our weekly look at the stunningly beautiful and beautifully ugly celebrity ensembles that set the group chat alight.
Best use of jewellery
Look, I’m excited to watch the movie but the Wicked press tour and series of premieres feel like they’ve been dragging on forever. They need to wrap up the hype machine and get the film out there before we’re all over it. There have been a lot of fabulous looks throughout it all, and this week my fave comes from Michelle Yeoh in this incredible beaded and torn Balenciaga gown worn with a perfectly in character Bvlgari Serpenti necklace (she plays the villain) – and a fantastic, slightly camp bob. – Zoe Walker Ahwa
Best couch/outfit pairing
I’m moving into a new flat this weekend, and after much couch drama (they said they’d put it on hold, they sold it to someone else, I complained in a vaguely bratish way, they did a 180), I have finally secured said couch – which is about the colour of this one. And I hope I look as good sitting on it as Charli xcx does here (I won’t). I’m not as much of a diehard SNL fan as Zoe is, but if Charli’s SNL prep fits are anything to go by, it’ll be good. – Georgie Wright
Best bow
Baby2Baby is such a hilarious annual event, it’s so random yet brings out some heavy red carpet hitters. I generally find Sofia Grainge Richie so contrived and dull (although I feel maybe her dullness is contrived? As Nicole’s sister I think there’s probably a naughty side in there somewhere) but I do appreciate this beautiful and perfectly made dress on her. It reminds me a little in spirit of this dress I’ve got my eye on, from our homegrown brand of quiet luxury Harris Tapper. – Rebecca Wadey
Best Ensemble purple
Lanvin is not a brand you see much on the celebrity red carpet anymore (I used to adore it under the late designer Alber Elbaz), so I was pleasantly surprised to see Nicole Richie wearing it for the Baby2Baby Gala. It’s a very simple dress that she, of course, imbues with her special sense of boho – but the thing that caught my eye is how it’s pretty much a perfect match to our signature Ensemble purple. – ZWA
Best walk down the street
If you’re planning to walk down the street anytime soon, this is a great template. The dress, by London-based designer Kiko Kostadinov, looks so effortlessly great on the actor, Kelsey Asbille. The way it hangs off the shoulder, how the yellow piping and green stamp-esque detail livens up an all black ensemble, the slightly sheer and textured fabric. I always find it hard to style black tights without looking like a schoolgirl in a not cute way, but now I know how. – GW
